If time travel was available would it be worth the risk?

Any insignificant action could change the time line. Time travel would be filled with way too many risks of paradoxes. For example what if you go back in time and the kill the inventor of the time machine then it would of been impossible for you to travel back to kill him meaning he would still exist and be able to create it. What do you think?
