Marines MP Questions? Help?

(NOTE: I am only a teen) If I sign up for the Marines will I get to choose to be an MP? What do MP'S MAINLY DO? I want to be a state trooper,and the requirements include 90 days of military exp. So can I be an MP right off the bat? Also what is Mos? Thank you for your time!
