Need a special song for my guy and I to represent our "new beginning"?

We went through a rough patch in the last couple months. His ex girlfriend lives in the same bldg as he does so its a constant of reminder of someone he slept w/, shared memories, etc and not to sound snotty, but he really "settled"...intellect and looks. B/4 you jump down my throat and say that i'm just being a catty new gf to an ex...my bf himself said the only quality she really had was nice and ultimately the reason he broke up w/her is that she wasn't really exciting and fun, didn't intellectually stimulate him and most importantly he could never see himself marrying her. Yes, I know everyone has ex's but the problem I had was, 1st, how in the hell he let "nice" keep him in a relationship for a year. 2nd, how can he appreciate me, i'm fun as hell and have a doctorate, after settling for "that" for so long. We're working through it (basically me no t asking ?'s about her) and our motto is "us is all that matters now" . Can anyone help me w/getting over this AND finding a song?
