How does Buddhist/Hindu Hell(Naraka) work with reincarnation? Im confused on this?

How can you go to Hell if youre being reincarnated all the time? What is this hell supposed to be like? and do you think this idea of Hell is just something that was Christianity tainting the eastern religions?
